About the position
Hennepin County's Human Services and Public Health Department is seeking volunteers in the Children and Family Services area. This volunteer opportunity is a customer service role assisting individuals who are visiting the building to ensure they are connected to the appropriate staff members. This position requires a six-month commitment at minimum.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet residents that come into the HSBs on a walk-in basis.
- Check-in if walk-in has visitation by Calendar.
- Connect anyone who inquires or has concerns related to child protection case/s to the coverage supervisor on site at HSB.
- For those volunteers who will be placed at 1256 Penn Ave., duties will include connecting and triaging individuals through county provided computer using Microsoft Teams.
- Use daily tracking from Excel Walk-in & Incident Tracker.
- Schedule visits and appointments and other tasks as assigned.

- Minimum six-month commitment.
