About the position

The Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland (PBRC) is seeking a Volunteer Manager to oversee and enhance the engagement of volunteer attorneys, students, and interpreters. This role focuses on managing existing volunteers, implementing outreach strategies to recruit new volunteers, and collaborating with various legal and community organizations to ensure access to justice for marginalized groups. The position offers opportunities to pilot new initiatives and strengthen partnerships within the legal and non-legal communities.

Responsibilities

• Manage pool of existing volunteers at PBRC, connecting them to resources and mentors.
• Recognize volunteers through a Volunteer Reception, thank you notes, and awards.
• Work with 13-15 Professional Skills Academy Fellows annually, tracking their volunteer services and coordinating events.
• Coordinate and conduct presentations and meetings with law firms, corporate counsel offices, state, local and specialty bar associations to recruit volunteer attorneys and paraprofessionals.
• Collaborate with PBRC departments on ways to engage, retain, and support volunteers.
• Mentor and respond to volunteer questions.
• Administer new volunteer engagement processes and practices.

Requirements

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsible.
• Excellent people skills.
• Experience with volunteer management and/or engagement.
• Proficient in using databases and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
• Strong ability to navigate and utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for various administrative and reporting tasks.
• Access to transportation for community outreach.
• Legal background helpful.
• Strong commitment to helping the community and ensuring equal access to justice.
