About the position

The VP of Ad Sales at PayPal Ads is a senior leadership role responsible for building and scaling the advertising sales and account management teams globally. This position focuses on driving revenue growth by engaging advertisers, leveraging industry connections, and ensuring that the advertising solutions meet the marketing objectives of clients while exceeding PayPal's revenue targets. The role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance the advertising platform's value proposition.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute revenue strategy that enables teams to exceed global advertising revenue targets
  • Build and lead a high-performing and diverse sales and account management globally
  • Responsible for delivering advertising revenue across PayPal Ads surface globally
  • Own and drive revenue growth by leading teams and identifying upsell opportunities
  • Develop relationships and credibility to convey the value of PayPal's solutions to C-level executives
  • Negotiate favorable commercial terms, contracts, and agreements
  • Accelerate results through superior pipeline management and resource allocation
  • Provide insights on product enhancements and go-to-market strategies based on customer feedback
  • Prepare and give business reviews to senior leadership
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership to align on sales structure and revenue targets
  • Perform revenue modeling and forecasting to optimize strategy and processes
  • Collaborate with operations, product, and finance teams to inform ads surfaces and pricing
  • Work with the VP, Ad Operations to create joint business plans with major advertisers
  • Drive for results with a comprehensive strategy

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration or a related field; Master or PhD preferred
  • 20+ years of experience in ad sales at media provider
  • 15+ years' experience in leading ad sales globally
  • Deep understanding of advertiser, agencies, and merchant branding and performance needs
  • Network and close working relationship with advertiser and agency decision-makers
  • Proven track record of building and managing a multi-million dollar advertising business
  • Experience in scaling and developing internationally dispersed teams
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Experience negotiating complex contracts and achieving favorable deal terms
  • Exceptional consultative sales skills and a passion to win
  • Ability to synthesize complex information for executive decision-making
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills
