About the position
The Vice President, Ag/Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for evaluating loan applications, confirming credit worthiness, and improving loan documentation. This role involves approving loans, assisting customers with inquiries, and managing an established portfolio with potential for growth within a mid-sized financial institution. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset and leadership qualities, contributing to the organization's growth and success.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate loan applications and documentation to confirm credit worthiness.
- Improve loan applications by informing applicants of additional requirements.
- Reject loans by explaining deficiencies to applicants.
- Approve loans by issuing checks or forwarding applications to the loan committee.
- Assist customers by answering questions related to loans and banking products.
- Expand client relationships and cross-sell bank products.
- Manage and potentially expand an established loan portfolio.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as an Ag or Commercial Loan Officer.
- Strong credit experience and business development mindset.
- Leadership aspirations and qualities.
- Ability to multi-task quickly and effectively.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with sales, commercial loan processing, and closing processes.
- Working knowledge of the Agricultural industry.
