About the position

The position is responsible for leading strategic initiatives aligned with the growth objectives of Crum & Forster's Accident & Health division. This role involves managing relationships with brokers and distributors, enhancing the division's value proposition, and driving business development efforts to expand market presence and product distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a deep knowledge of the A&H story, history, strategies and short & long term objectives.
  • Manage the delivery of the Accident & Health Division's value proposition to targeted brokers, MGU/MGAs and distribution.
  • Develop strong producer relationships to build a significant production network.
  • Communicate all A&H insurance product offerings, risk appetite, and submission process clearly.
  • Evaluate opportunities for viability to ensure successful sales and underwriting outcomes.
  • Recruit new brokers, reinsurance intermediaries, MGA/MGU's, and distributors for product distribution.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the business development staff.
  • Execute A&H's Key Account Management (KAM) strategy across Business Units.
  • Cultivate new product and service ideas based on market intel and customer feedback.
  • Identify potential joint ventures, M&A targets, and strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Analyze market dynamics, market share changes, product line performance, and competitive intelligence.
  • Establish a leadership role in strategic planning with executive team members and business units.
  • Ensure communication flow regarding product and program updates with UW & SS leadership.
  • Monitor the execution of LOB business plans and adjust accordingly.
  • Collaborate with leadership and consultants to execute strategies effectively.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications to ensure accurate brand messaging and collateral.
  • Oversee conference planning and attendance to ensure effective ROI.
  • Support C&F wide marketing initiatives including cross divisional marketing and events.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of related work experience in the Accident, Health & Life product space.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills.
  • Strong background in Accident Health & Life products.
  • Understanding of the program (MGA/MGU/Distributor) model.
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance products within scope of responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of successful selling methods and techniques.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to function effectively in a matrixed work environment.
  • Understanding of corporate culture and ability to work well across organizational lines.
