About the position

The VP, CFO for the Mid-Atlantic States at Kaiser Foundation Health Plans and Hospitals is responsible for the financial management and strategic planning of the region. This role involves developing comprehensive financial strategies to ensure both short-term growth and long-term viability, overseeing financial operations, and collaborating with various leadership teams to enhance organizational performance. The CFO will also communicate financial performance and risks to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining a high-performing finance organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategic financial plan for the Mid-Atlantic Market.
  • Assess financial opportunities, challenges, and risks facing the region.
  • Engage regional leadership to create comprehensive budgeting and financial management plans.
  • Participate in Program financial leadership and support program-wide initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Regional President to negotiate the Medical Services Agreement (MSA).
  • Partner with operations to develop financial and operational plans and metrics.
  • Monitor reporting systems to identify performance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support intra-entity initiatives to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with VP, Strategy and Business Development on regional business planning.
  • Communicate financial performance and plans to various audiences.
  • Oversee management of significant finance processes and functions, including financial planning, reporting, and operational analysis.
  • Drive internal initiatives to improve finance organization performance and processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in financial activities of a health plan or health care system.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, or related field.
  • Successful experience managing financial and organizational issues.
  • Demonstrated expertise as a financial and strategic leader with outstanding financial technical skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Combination of health plan and health care delivery system finance experience.
  • Master's degree and/or CPA preferred.
