About the position

The Cloud Operations Engineer is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for the support and management of complex Cloud solutions across various platforms, including Azure, AWS, and GCP. This position is essential for ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of our Cloud infrastructure, which supports all customer entities in the Americas Division. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Cloud engineering or support, with a focus on application deployment and daily maintenance of Azure resources. In this role, you will be tasked with the creation and support of Cloud resources, capacity management, service right sizing, and financial governance, including managing reservations and monitoring. You will also be responsible for the operational support of production workloads within a multi-Cloud environment, which includes monitoring, patching, and backup and restoration of Cloud resources. Your expertise will be crucial in finding and improving operational efficiencies to enhance Cloud resource delivery, access management, and security implementations. Additionally, you will be involved in the delivery of Cloud infrastructure for partner solutions and will leverage automation and infrastructure as code solutions for resource creation and policy management. This will involve using tools such as PowerShell, Azure DevOps, Ansible, and other approved corporate automation and orchestration platforms. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to execute proof of concepts and deploy complex solutions effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage complex Cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Create and manage Cloud resources, focusing on capacity management and service right sizing.
  • Implement financial governance for Cloud resources, including reservations and monitoring.
  • Support production workloads in a multi-Cloud environment, including monitoring, patching, and backup.
  • Deliver Cloud infrastructure for partner solutions.
  • Create and support automation and infrastructure as code solutions using PowerShell, Azure DevOps, and Ansible.
  • Find and improve operational efficiencies for Cloud resource delivery and security implementations.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of proficiency in Cloud services related to IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code development using Terraform, ARM, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
  • Hands-on operational experience with Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with monitoring and log aggregation tools such as Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, and Splunk.
  • Fundamental understanding of public vs private networking in the Cloud.
  • Knowledge of Git merging and branching strategies.
  • Ability to execute proof of concepts and deploy complex solutions.
  • Understanding of typical SDLC processes related to infrastructure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic understanding of the Atlassian Suite (Jira/Confluence).
