About the position

Accolade is seeking a dynamic VP of Corporate Communications and Brand to lead the development of integrated marketing campaigns and brand messaging that enhance brand sentiment, awareness, and growth. This role, reporting to the SVP of Marketing, involves managing a talented team that includes writers, designers, PR professionals, social media experts, and corporate events coordinators. The VP will focus on increasing unaided brand awareness, positive sentiment, organic traffic, earned media value, customer stories, and event success. The ideal candidate will blend creativity with analytics, possess strong intuition, executive presence, and impeccable judgment, and drive teams towards desired outcomes efficiently. As an agile marketer, the VP will ensure the team operates effectively and produces exceptional content that aligns with Accolade's brand values and goals. The role requires bringing modernization and innovation to strategies while maintaining a high standard of excellence. Key responsibilities include developing and leading the overall communications and brand strategy in alignment with company goals, owning the company-level messaging framework, creating compelling content strategies informed by SEO and revenue analytics, overseeing PR initiatives, leading the marketing department in creating authentic customer stories, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure consistency in messaging and branding. The VP will also utilize data and analytics to measure the impact of communication efforts and make thoughtful, data-driven decisions, while leading a team of mid-career individuals with critical skill sets in content creation, digital media, social media, PR, communications, design, brand, and webinars. Superior judgment and integrity in decision-making are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the overall communications and brand strategy in alignment with company goals.
  • Own the company-level messaging framework and its evolution alongside the business with constant measurement and monitoring.
  • Create compelling content strategies across various platforms to engage the audience and drive brand awareness, informed by SEO and revenue analytics.
  • Oversee the strategy and execution of PR initiatives, driving positive media coverage and effective crisis management.
  • Lead the marketing department in creating a culture of authentic customer and member stories that resonate with members and buyers.
  • Create conditions for successful social media strategy, including crafting engaging content and monitoring online conversations.
  • Lead the vision for corporate events that align with brand identity and resonate with target audiences.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and executive teams to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.
  • Utilize data and analytics to measure the impact of communication efforts and make data-driven decisions.
  • Lead a team of mid-career individuals with business-critical skillsets in content creation, digital media, social media, PR, communications, design, brand, and webinars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field (Master's degree or 10+ years experience preferred).
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in communications, brand management, and PR, preferably in the healthcare, technology or SaaS industries.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
  • Proven track record of extremely high bar for execution detail and quality of work leading to exceptional results.
  • Proven ability to tell stories that resonate on an emotional level and tie to business value.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing content strategies that drive traffic and awareness.
  • Experience with social media management, crisis communication, and media relations.
  • Ability to think strategically, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in high volume content creation with fast-paced teams running an agile/scrum approach to marketing production.
  • Track record of quantifying and reporting on the impact of communication initiatives.
  • Comfort and track record of success collaborating with executives without oversight.
