About the position

The VP, Data & Analytics Architecture at Thomson Reuters will lead the data architecture strategy and implementation, ensuring the scalability, security, and governance of data solutions. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to drive innovation and enhance data capabilities, while also mentoring a team of data architects. The position is pivotal in shaping the company's data and analytics policies and standards, ultimately supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve an enterprise-wide Data Architecture, including patterns, standards, and guidelines.
  • Build and lead a team of data architects to design and implement robust and scalable data systems.
  • Provide thought leadership on data architecture trends and best practices.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team.
  • Collaborate with IT, engineering, and business stakeholders to integrate data architecture into broader initiatives.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and data management practices.
  • Communicate the data architecture to all levels of the organization, including senior executives and technical teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field, with at least 8 years in a leadership role.
  • Ability to operate across organizational boundaries and influence stakeholders.
  • Robust analytical skills to synthesize business requirements with technology capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including cultural and language awareness.
  • Hands-on experience creating and evolving an enterprise data architecture.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud database design, data modeling, and data warehousing principles.
  • Experience with distributed systems patterns and big data technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with machine learning and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and understanding of the software development lifecycle.
