The primary function of this role is to guide the product management cycle and influence the market in the critical power space within the datacenter segment. This position involves extensive research into trends in the IT and Datacenter industries that may impact the management of electrical energy and heat in datacenters, as well as the overall lifecycle of datacenters. The role requires collaboration with various business units (BUs) and key account managers (KAMs) to formulate potential future scenarios for different types of datacenters, ensuring that Eaton can differentiate itself by designing architecture that offers the best value proposition throughout the datacenter's design, build, operations, and maintenance phases. In addition to research, the role involves working closely with Eaton's engineering and research leaders (ERLs) to implement architecture recommendations and interact with key industry leaders to gather voice of the customer (VoC) feedback. This feedback is crucial for influencing engineering choices and ensuring that Eaton's offerings align with market needs. Participation in key IT and datacenter technical conferences is also a significant aspect of the role, where engagement with customers, thought leaders, and engineers helps identify emerging topics central to the industry. The position requires regular interaction with partners across the industry to discuss trends and collaborate on common designs that resolve constraints and satisfy customer requirements. The successful candidate will represent Eaton in academic settings, particularly in universities with significant research clusters in computer science and datacenters, and will be responsible for formulating requirements and scenarios for various datacenter archetypes. This role also involves contributing to Eaton's strategic planning cycle and engaging with customers and partners to deepen understanding of their constraints and requirements, ultimately influencing their design preferences and contributing to specific bids for enterprise customers.
