About the position

As the VP of Datacenter Sales at Lightmatter, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth during a critical phase of product development and deployment. You will be responsible for building and managing relationships with top executives at target customers, ensuring that Lightmatter's innovative solutions are effectively communicated and understood. This position requires a strong understanding of AI datacenter infrastructure and the ability to lead technical sales conversations that align with customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of target customers, acting as the 'CEO' of the accounts.
  • Drive strong technical sales conversations to uncover customer decision-making motivators.
  • Leverage understanding of AI data center infrastructure and performance metrics to inform sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with Lightmatter support teams to drive agreements to closure.
  • Provide customer insights to inform Lightmatter's go-to-market strategy.
  • Lead the US Enterprise and Datacenter team towards long-term success through collaboration.
  • Understand the selling/buying cycle within target customer space to align with customer demand.
  • Provide insights into customer demand and deployment timing to predict revenue ramp.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of experience in Hyperscale/Datacenter system and/or semiconductor sales.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in AI/HPC/Network/Interconnect.
  • Demonstrable track record of revenue growth and ability to close greenfield opportunities.
  • Experience managing $100M+ contract negotiations and agreements.
  • Positive track record calling on Top 10 US datacenter accounts.
  • History of working with internal Product and Engineering teams to drive engagements to closure.
  • Strong team-centric attitude and growth mindset.
  • Demonstrable record of process orientation to navigate and close deals with large corporations.
