About the position

As the VP of Datacenter Sales at Lightmatter, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth in AI data center infrastructure. This position involves building and managing relationships with top executives at target customers, ensuring that Lightmatter's solutions are effectively communicated and understood. You will lead the sales efforts, focusing on technical sales conversations and collaborating with account teams to secure design wins. Your leadership will be crucial in shaping the go-to-market strategy and driving the long-term success of the US Enterprise and Datacenter team.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of target customers; act as the 'CEO' of the accounts and the authoritative link between them and Lightmatter.
  • Drive strong, technical sales conversations that uncover core motivators for customer decision-making and align Lightmatter solutions to address those needs.
  • Understand AI data center infrastructure, key performance metrics, and the infrastructure procurement and deployment lifecycle.
  • Leverage communication skills and relationships with the Lightmatter support team to drive agreements to closure.
  • Provide input as the 'voice of the customer' into Lightmatter's go-to-market strategy.
  • Collaborate with peers to drive the long-term success of the US Enterprise and Datacenter team, supporting team growth and capability expansion.
  • Understand the selling/buying cycle within the target customer space to ensure alignment with customer demand.
  • Provide insights into customer demand and deployment timing, working with the finance team on predicting revenue ramp.
  • Maintain an entrepreneurial attitude with a high level of business acumen, interacting with C-level executives and engineering teams at major companies.
  • Deliver impactful presentations that convey Lightmatter's value proposition concisely and accurately.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of Hyperscale/Datacenter system and/or semiconductor sales experience.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in AI/HPC/Network/Interconnect.
  • Demonstrable track record of revenue growth and ability to close greenfield opportunities.
  • Experience managing $100M+ contract negotiations and agreements.
  • Positive track record calling on Top 10 US datacenter accounts.
  • History of working with internal Product and Engineering teams to drive engagements to closure.
  • Strong team-centric attitude and a team growth mindset.
  • Demonstrable record of process orientation to navigate and close deals with large, complex corporations.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
