About the position

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a VP/Director of Finance in Denver, Colorado. This role will focus on overseeing operations, reviewing and developing standard operating procedures, supporting the establishment of administrative offices, preparing quarterly administration reports, and supervising HR staff. The individual will also manage and implement employee manuals and policies, oversee recruiting, and manage employee benefit programs. The position requires a strategic leader who can ensure compliance with laws and regulations at all locations of operation while also managing the financial health of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the company's recruiting efforts and succession planning for staff, including volunteers and interns. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of financial records and ensuring that the organization operates efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operations, including contracts, audit compliant procurement, and interactions with vendors and clients
  • Review and develop Standard Operating Procedures as needed, including Safety and Security Procedures for all programs
  • Oversee the implementation of procedures and serve as the Main Security Focal Point
  • Support the establishment of administrative offices in new country programs when necessary
  • Prepare quarterly Administration reports
  • Supervise HR staff and oversee all HR matters
  • Assure compliance with laws and regulations at all locations of operation
  • Manage and implement employee manuals and policies
  • Oversee the recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding of all employees
  • Supervise the administrative team in preparation of offer letters for new hires and contract agreements for outside contractors
  • Manage employee health insurance and emergency evacuation insurance for employees
  • Manage leave requests and time-off balances
  • Manage and update employee benefit programs for staff
  • Lead the company's recruiting efforts and Succession Planning for staff, including volunteers and interns
  • Oversee annual performance and salary reviews

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably as a VP/Director of Finance.
  • Proven skills in auditing, ensuring the accurate and compliant management of financial records.
  • Extensive knowledge of budget processes, including planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability in capital management, including funding, investing, and managing resources.
  • Proficiency in cash flow analysis, forecasting, and management to maintain financial health.
  • Experience in Fund Accounting with a focus on non-profit organizations.
  • Familiarity with Human Resources (HR) Administration, including managing employee benefits, compliance, and data systems.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
