About the position

The VP/Director of Finance is a key leadership role within the nonprofit sector, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This position ensures the smooth running of the financial department by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role requires extensive collaboration across departments and a strong understanding of real estate accounting, particularly in residential real estate.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the organization's financial operations and guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Work extensively with Yardi and other accounting software systems to maintain financial records.
• Ensure all accounting functions are performed accurately and within the stipulated time frame, including bank reconciliation, monthly close, accruals, and bi-weekly payroll using ADP.
• Oversee the annual budget and audit processes to ensure financial health and compliance.
• Manage the accounts payable process to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
• Collaborate effectively across departments and understand the intricacies of revolving lines of credit and fund management.
• Leverage knowledge of real estate, particularly residential real estate accounting, in financial decision-making processes.
• Exercise expertise in the federal government HUD process.

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Extensive experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Proven ability in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Ability to plan and execute Annual Budget
• Skilled in conducting Auditing
• Familiarity with Budget Processes
• Proficiency in Yardi and Yardi Software
• Relevant experience in Real Estate
• Knowledge in Real Estate - Residential
• Expertise in Real Estate Accounting
