About The Position

The VP, EHS and Enterprise Strategy is responsible for leading the development and execution of a comprehensive enterprise strategy while overseeing a global Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) strategy. This role focuses on ensuring a culture of safety, compliance, and sustainability across the organization, driving transformational initiatives that enhance performance and foster innovation. The position requires collaboration with executive leadership to align EHS principles with business objectives and to promote organizational growth and strategic alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Security Management, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive occupational health, safety, and environmental experience in senior leadership roles.
  • Experience in global EHS and corporate security management.
  • Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field.
  • 13+ years of progressive occupational health, safety, and environmental experience in senior leadership roles.
  • CSP, SIH, CHMM, CPP, or equivalent certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global EHS strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and regional teams to integrate EHS and security principles into global operations.
  • Establish and communicate clear, measurable goals for EHS performance using data analytics.
  • Oversee compliance with international EHS and security regulations, ensuring adherence to standards set by regulatory bodies.
  • Lead the development of risk management frameworks to address safety, environmental, and security issues.
  • Drive sustainability efforts to reduce environmental impact through innovative practices.
  • Develop and maintain a global corporate emergency response framework for safeguarding employees and facilities.
  • Lead the creation of comprehensive annual strategic plans for sustainable growth and competitive advantage.
  • Garner global market intelligence to identify emerging trends and growth opportunities.
  • Organize and lead annual strategy workshops with the executive leadership team.
  • Build and lead a high-performing global EHS team, mentoring and developing EHS leaders.
  • Manage departmental expense budgets and company benefits programs.
