About the position

The VP, Enterprise Operations for the resilience response team at Mastercard is responsible for driving operational resiliency across the organization. This role involves identifying critical operational challenges, leading cross-functional mitigation activities, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the effective allocation of resources and timely resolution of issues. The position plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational integrity of Mastercard's critical services and requires a strong technical background and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of the organization's operational processes based on existing data points and new measurements.
  • Employ industry standard methodologies like Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Blastradius assessment.
  • Prioritize the most critical challenges and develop a clear roadmap for addressing them.
  • Establish and maintain a Top 5-10 list of priorities for the Operational Resiliency Office.
  • Develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to address identified operational risks.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to develop and execute action plans.
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including finance, program teams, and other relevant departments.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that adequate resources are allocated to support mitigation efforts.
  • Advocate for the necessary investments to maintain a resilient operational environment.
  • Track the progress of agreed-upon mitigation actions and ensure they are completed within specified timelines.
  • Regularly review the operational environment for emerging risks and assess the need for re-prioritization.
  • Conduct periodic assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation measures.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading teams across technology domains as a technical expert.
  • A deep understanding of the Mastercard payment ecosystem to rapidly identify existing challenges.
  • Extensive experience leading large cross-functional technology initiatives.
  • Ability to use data to make informed decisions and drive improvements.
  • Capacity to identify and resolve issues related to supplier performance, service delivery, and contractual compliance.
  • Experience teaming with leaders in the technical community to evaluate existing challenges in managing critical infrastructure suppliers.
  • Experience acting as an escalation point for difficult issues and communicating overall status with management and external suppliers.
  • Extensive experience building strategic and collaborative working relationships with global internal and external stakeholders.
