About the position

The Vice President of External Affairs is responsible for leading the external affairs strategy for the UF Health Jacksonville region. This role focuses on effectively representing the region's interests at local, state, and federal levels, ensuring that the organization engages with key stakeholders and influences policy decisions that impact healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the external affairs strategy for the UF Health Jacksonville region.
• Represent the region's interests at local, state, and federal levels.
• Manage strategic initiatives and complex projects related to external affairs.
• Build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Oversee communication and negotiation efforts with government entities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field.
• Proven track record of managing strategic initiatives and complex projects.
• Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes at various government levels.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• 5 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field specifically in healthcare.
