About the position

The Vice President of Finance and Accounting is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for steering the financial health and operational success of our agency. This position requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's overarching goals and objectives. The VP will provide critical financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team, facilitating informed decision-making processes. This role also encompasses leading the annual budgeting process, which includes forecasting and variance analysis, ensuring that the organization remains on track financially. In addition to strategic planning, the VP will oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. This oversight extends to managing and leading the accounting department, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. The VP will be tasked with implementing and maintaining robust accounting systems and controls, optimizing and streamlining accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy, and managing monthly QuickBooks operations. Risk management is another critical aspect of this role. The VP will identify and mitigate financial risks to the organization, oversee insurance policies to ensure adequate coverage for all assets and operations, and implement internal controls to safeguard the company's financial assets. Furthermore, the VP will act as a key liaison with banks, investors, auditors, and other financial stakeholders, preparing and presenting financial reports to the board of directors to keep them informed of the organization's financial status.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks.
