About the position

The Vice President, Front-End Engineering is responsible for leading the development and production support of responsive design web applications. This role requires hands-on web application coding, design, and architecture expertise, along with the ability to influence and manage teams effectively. The VP will ensure timely project completion while maintaining operational excellence and will be a key leader in the front-end development community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a front-end team of managers and engineers through all phases of the Agile development life cycle.
  • Implement new technologies and assist developers in migrating to them.
  • Develop applications using ReactJS as a leader of the development team.
  • Architect applications across the full stack, including PCF, Cloud Native Application Architecture, Microservices, J2EE, Spring Java, and RESTful APIs.
  • Drive a CI/CD strategy using Jenkins, Bitbucket, and uDeploy.
  • Influence and collaborate with software developers, UX designers, product managers, and application architects.
  • Mentor and influence all levels of the team.
  • Design and execute a training curriculum for new engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with architecture, security, and technology standards.
  • Assist in crafting and maintaining the future state technology architectural strategy.
  • Participate in Agile scrums and lead Agile sprints as a technical expert.
  • Ensure application code quality through development, testing, and QA.
  • Participate in addressing root cause analyses and incident reports.
  • Analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, and implement fixes.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support periodically throughout the year.
  • Identify ways to increase efficiency and improve system performance.
  • Work with third-party vendors to develop software and integrate their software into the company's products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with a minimum of 10 years web application development experience, or a High School Diploma/GED and 15 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years people management experience.
  • Experience building and consuming web services via SOAP and REST.
  • Experience with writing unit, integration, and UI test cases.
  • Experience working with OAUTH and SAML.
  • Deep experience with responsive web design principles and cross-device support.
  • Strong experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
  • Experience using Splunk for production support.
  • Experience using Omniture for web analytics.
  • Familiarity with JSON, REST, and XML based web services.
