About the position

The VP, IM Data Engineering, Data Science & Quant Enablement Tech is responsible for leading data engineering initiatives within the investment management sector. This role focuses on designing, delivering, and managing modern Enterprise Data Platforms that support both operational and analytical workloads, while ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory standards. The position also involves mentoring junior talent and collaborating with various teams to meet their data engineering needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and manage modern Enterprise Data Platforms supporting both operational and analytical workloads.
• Enable data science, machine learning, and generative AI solutions, ensuring governance and regulatory compliance.
• Utilize various data modeling methodologies to optimize data architecture.
• Collaborate closely with Quantitative Finance, Investment, Marketing, and Operations teams to support their data engineering needs.
• Mentor and develop junior talent within the data engineering team.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in data engineering tools and methodologies.
• Leverage experience with digital marketing-related models to enhance data-driven strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 5 years in the finance industry.
• Proven track record in designing, delivering, and managing enterprise data warehouses and data science platforms.
• Proven track record in leading data engineering teams in investment management organizations is a big plus.
• Deep knowledge and experience with various data modeling methodologies.
• Deep expertise in the latest advancements in data engineering tools and methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of the investment management industry is an advantage.
• Experience working with Data Science and Machine Learning.
• Experience working with generative AI technologies is a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience with Snowflake, Azure Cloud, and Databricks.
• Experience working with financial data sources such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, and FactSet is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with digital marketing-related models is an advantage.
• Expertise working with big data technologies and cloud computing.
