About the position

The VP of Insurance Product Strategy, Design, & Implementation at Highmark Inc. is responsible for overseeing product strategy, innovation, portfolio management, and implementation roadmaps for a diverse range of medical products. This role involves ensuring that products meet the evolving needs of a highly regulated and competitive marketplace while balancing profitability, enrollment, and customer satisfaction. The VP will lead the development of a multi-year vision and roadmap for process and technology solutions necessary for delivering medical products effectively to customers and clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Develop a clear multi-year product strategy across existing segments and new geographies.
• Monitor market developments and implement new product innovations.
• Oversee the team responsible for delivering the product strategic roadmap.
• Develop targets for product performance and assess performance against membership and financial targets.
• Create a detailed multi-year roadmap of supporting capabilities needed to deliver products.
• Coordinate with other Product Management groups to maintain an integrated product capabilities roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Product Management/Design, Healthcare Management, Management Information Science, or related field.
• 10 years of experience in healthcare strategy and execution/solution delivery.
• 10 years of experience with deep breadth and depth of business knowledge across relevant functions in healthcare or similarly regulated product industry.
• 7 years in a leadership role, with demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organizational environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Product Management/Design, Healthcare Management, Management Information Science, or related field.
• Experience managing complex initiatives in the consulting, healthcare, or insurance industry.
• Track record of driving transformational change and building relationships.
• Practice of Human Centered Design and/or Design Thinking process and methods.
• Understanding of Agile Development techniques and tools.
