About the position

The VP Insurance position at Compeer Financial is a leadership role responsible for guiding a team of sales leaders in the development and retention of crop and livestock insurance business. This hybrid position focuses on creating and executing strategies to enhance client relationships and drive new business while ensuring compliance and profitability within the insurance line of business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of sales leaders in developing new crop and livestock insurance business.
  • Retain existing business and cross-sell Compeer products and services.
  • Create and execute strategies to strengthen client relationships and add value.
  • Develop marketplace-specific strategies that align with the organization's vision and objectives.
  • Communicate business expectations and goals to the team.
  • Promote and uphold the Insurance Sales culture within the team.
  • Encourage the use of the Team Relationship Model across Compeer.
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies for the insurance line of business.
  • Assess new opportunities and seek innovative solutions for organizational success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, marketing, agribusiness or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Minimum of seven years of leadership and management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
  • Strategic and innovative mindset.
  • Expert knowledge of collateral evaluation methods.
  • Expert knowledge of sales and sales management techniques.
  • Working knowledge of the agriculture industry and local marketplace.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
  • High level of integrity and strong negotiating skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and CRM programs.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
