About the position

The Vice President of International Market Access at Amicus Therapeutics is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring that the company's products are valued appropriately by payers and accessible to patients with rare diseases. This position involves strategic oversight of pricing and reimbursement processes across various geographies, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate market access strategies into brand planning and product development. The VP will lead the International Market Access team, manage key performance indicators, and represent market access perspectives in executive discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Core member of the International Leadership Team (ILT).
  • Lead the end-to-end Pricing and Reimbursement (P&R) of the Amicus portfolio in all commercialized geographies.
  • Utilize knowledge of P&R systems to integrate value and outcomes into global pipeline planning and clinical development.
  • Accountable for revenue implications of access decisions, partnering with business leaders.
  • Collaborate with the PP&A team to integrate patient voices into access strategies.
  • Manage launch sequencing, reference price analysis, and pricing governance across the portfolio.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure integrated strategies for patient access.
  • Lead the International Market Access team in developing pricing and reimbursement strategies.
  • Develop and implement new pricing governance methods and processes.
  • Chair the International Pricing Committee to guide pricing decisions.
  • Develop innovative evidence and pricing strategies for Amicus products.
  • Present pricing strategies to the Global Pricing Committee to achieve access goals.
  • Accountable for P&R key performance indicators, reporting to the Chief Global Head of Rare Disease.
  • Serve as an active member of the International Leadership Team and Global Brand Steering Team.
  • Line manage the International Market Access team, setting objectives and performance goals.
  • Collaborate with finance to ensure P&R strategy aligns with budget and revenue projections.
  • Oversee external vendor projects and manage the IMAX budget.
  • Shape value propositions and enhance Global Value Messages for key geographies.
  • Provide P&R insights and analysis to pipeline teams and business development.

Requirements

  • Degree in bioscience, pharmacy, economics, business, or public policy.
  • Post-graduate qualifications in health-related and/or health economics discipline preferred.
  • Substantial experience in market access in pharma or biotech with international leadership in pricing and reimbursement.
  • Deep technical understanding of international pricing and reimbursement policies.
  • Extensive commercial and market access experience across the biopharmaceutical value chain.
  • Experience in smaller or mid-cap biotechnology or pharma companies.
  • Ability to manage complexity and demonstrate decision-making in fast-moving situations.
  • Deep understanding of development, launch, and reimbursement of biotherapeutics.
  • Track record of successful HTA approvals and price negotiations in rare disease/orphan medicines.
  • Strong people management skills.
