About the position

AlphaSense is seeking a Vice President (VP) of Corporate IT & Security to ensure the security, efficiency, and effectiveness of our information technology (IT) infrastructure, systems, and data. The VP of Corporate IT & Security will safeguard our digital assets, drive IT innovation and efficiency, and ensure alignment between IT and business objectives. This role is critical in developing and implementing comprehensive information security policies, procedures, and standards to protect the organization's data and information assets. The VP will monitor and assess potential security risks and vulnerabilities, implementing measures to mitigate them while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to information security. In addition to information security, the VP will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and storage systems. This includes ensuring the availability, reliability, and scalability of IT infrastructure to meet the organization's current and future needs, as well as implementing and managing cloud computing strategies and solutions as applicable. The VP will lead the organization's cybersecurity efforts, including the development and implementation of cybersecurity programs, technologies, and controls, and coordinate incident response and management in the event of a cybersecurity breach or incident. The role also involves developing and executing the organization's IT strategy and roadmap in alignment with its business objectives and goals. The VP will identify and prioritize IT initiatives and projects that deliver the greatest value to the organization, ensuring effective governance, budgeting, and resource allocation for IT projects and initiatives. Furthermore, the VP will evaluate, select, and manage relationships with IT vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure quality, value, and compliance with contractual agreements, while driving the adoption of cutting-edge technologies that facilitate efficiency and competitive advantage. Disaster recovery and business continuity are also key responsibilities, as the VP will develop and maintain comprehensive plans to ensure the organization's ability to recover from IT disruptions and maintain business operations. Regular testing and drills of these plans will be conducted to validate their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Finally, the VP will build, develop, and lead a high-performing IT and security team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning, while engaging with stakeholders to understand their IT and security needs, priorities, and concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the organization's ability to recover from IT disruptions and maintain business operations.
  • Conduct regular testing and drills of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to validate their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing IT and security team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Deploy productivity tools including the latest generative AI tools for typical IT/Security and support activities.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, business units, and other stakeholders to understand their IT and security needs, priorities, and concerns.
  • Communicate IT and security strategies, initiatives, and performance metrics to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
  • Create training materials and collaborate with training program directors on the security and privacy of data and assets within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity, with 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Extensive experience in IT, cybersecurity, and infrastructure management.
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity tools, technologies, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Industry Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, and other relevant IT and cybersecurity certifications.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing IT and security teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and execute IT and security strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the company's industry, market, and competitive landscape.
