As a Vice President of Land Acquisition at Taylor Morrison, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, acquiring, and developing properties that strategically position the division for success. Your primary responsibility will be to manage land development and regulatory agency activities to ensure that the division meets its financial objectives while adhering to quality expectations for on-time model opening dates. You will collaborate closely with all functional peers as a member of the Division Leadership Team, ensuring that all aspects of land acquisition align with the company's goals and standards. In this role, you will be tasked with developing a comprehensive land purchase plan that aligns with the division's financial objectives. This includes identifying and securing the best prices and terms on properties that conform to divisional business plans. You will ensure that development activities are completed on schedule and within budget by competent vendors, and you will be responsible for achieving land profits that meet or exceed the business plan. Additionally, you will act as a liaison in completing pro-formas for the Senior Investment Committee and will collect all pertinent data to prepare reports for potential acquisitions in accordance with company procedures. Establishing a robust network of colleagues and brokers to bring acquisition and divestiture opportunities will be essential. You will need to stay informed about local market land transactions and advise the Division President of any potential problems or issues, offering suggestions for resolution. Negotiating land purchase contracts and reviewing them with outside law firms and in-house counsel will also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, managing, motivating, and supporting the Land Resources staff, ensuring that the team is equipped to meet the division's objectives.
