About the position

The VP, Loan Portfolio Manager at Enterprise Bank & Trust is responsible for the proactive management of a commercial loan portfolio and related commercial deposit accounts. This role emphasizes delivering superior client services to retain and grow the portfolio, ensuring that clients receive the highest level of service. The VP will assist Relationship Managers (RMs) and Business Development Officers (BDOs) in initial underwriting for new pre-screen memos, coordinate loan renewals, recommend loan structures, and create new Salesforce Opportunities. Additionally, the role involves coordinating closings and identifying cross-selling opportunities to other Bank solution partners. Ongoing credit monitoring and risk rating management are essential to mitigate risks in accordance with the Lending Policy. In this position, the VP will act as the primary client contact for daily account activities, addressing complex customer inquiries and assisting with transactions promptly. Maintaining and solidifying existing relationships through proactive outreach is crucial, as is supporting the Bank's RMs and BDOs in cross-selling various bank services. The VP will also oversee the loan renewal process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of new commercial credit pre-screen presentations, and will be responsible for monitoring compliance with loan agreements. This role requires collaboration with Credit Administration to report on loan activities and reinforce a proactive outreach and marketing strategy with industry leaders. The VP will represent the bank at various professional, civic, and community events, utilizing Salesforce to log and maintain all client interactions and data. This position is integral to the bank's mission of guiding clients toward financial success while fostering professional growth opportunities for the VP.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage a commercial loan portfolio and related commercial deposit accounts.
  • Deliver superior client services to retain and grow the portfolio.
  • Assist RMs/BDOs in initial underwriting for new pre-screen memos.
  • Coordinate loan renewals and recommend loan structures.
  • Create new Salesforce Opportunities and coordinate closings.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities to other Bank solution partners.
  • Monitor ongoing credit and risk rating management to mitigate risks.

  • Reinforce proactive outreach and marketing strategies with industry leaders.
  • Represent the bank at professional, civic, and community events.
  • Utilize Salesforce to log and maintain all client data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university.
  • Five to ten years of related experience in Commercial and/or Business Banking.
  • Proven ability to identify client service needs including loans, deposits, and treasury management services.
  • Demonstrated skills in commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management for small-to-mid-sized companies.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills based on risk assessment.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks.
  • Superb people skills to work within a team environment and develop client relationships.
  • Self-motivated to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Strong working knowledge of regulations, compliance standards, market trends, and banking products.
