About the position

The Vice President, Managing Director of Software Platforms (MDSP) at OneMain Financial is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and adoption of software platforms to enhance customer engagement and support faster product development. This role focuses on establishing an Enterprise Software Platform organization, particularly in Document Management, and requires a deep understanding of multi-product offerings and industry platform products. The MDSP will drive innovation, foster a culture of improvement, and ensure the platforms deliver incrementally and frequently, aligning with OMF's business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the Enterprise Software Platform organization and its objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Define execution strategy for Software Platforms and work closely with engineering leadership.
  • Lead as the subject matter expert for Software Platform domains and enable software product teams.
  • Accountable for the performance of software platform leads and their teams.
  • Define, communicate, and improve key metrics demonstrating advancement against Software Platform OKRs.
  • Champion Software Platform capabilities that support modernization and cloud-based products.
  • Foster a culture of improvement and innovation within Software Platforms.
  • Drive adoption of OMF software platforms across product teams.
  • Facilitate high-commitment delivery and reduce cycle time through automation.
  • Mature and promote solutions that are cloud-first while supporting on-prem capabilities.
  • Set and pursue a platform architecture target state aligned with OMF business objectives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years leading development of ground-up platforms and services.
  • 10+ years of experience leading employee/contractor blended organizations.
  • 10+ years working with Iterative and Incremental methods (e.g., SCRUM).
  • 10+ years of experience selecting and negotiating 3rd party products and services.
  • 5+ years defining compelling job descriptions and hiring industry-leading talent.
  • 5+ years of experience leading on-prem to cloud-based technology organization transformation.
  • 5+ years of AWS experience in a mature, leading cloud-first organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, hard sciences, or engineering; master's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cloud-based architectures for product implementation.
  • Strong familiarity with cloud-based and on-prem integration patterns.
  • Experience delivering strategic presentations to C-suite and board leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging DevOps pipelines for quality maturity and cycle-time reduction.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in software development.
