About the position

The Technical Product Manager will lead the Connectivity Engineering Team at Synchrony, focusing on evaluating and delivering new connectivity technologies into production environments. This role requires strong communication skills and experience in a matrixed environment, working closely with technical engineering and development teams. The position involves providing technical leadership, defining product strategy, and ensuring feature delivery across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Technical Leadership, Strategy and Support for Business leaders and Product Owners
  • Produce Technology Road Maps
  • Define Product Strategy (Capability/Deployment)
  • Develop Product Vision and continual product modernization
  • Align Business Strategy to Product
  • Manage Agile Teams
  • Oversee Agile Train Epic Management
  • Ensure Product Feature Adoption
  • Guarantee Feature Delivery Assurance
  • Prioritize Features
  • Engage in Cross-Train Business Engagement
  • Handle Escalation for Product Owners
  • Manage Product Costs
  • Conduct Product Audits and compliance oversight
  • Engage with Suppliers and manage issues
  • Provide Technology leadership and Guidance for product teams
  • Work with Cloud Networking technologies (Aviatrix, Cloud Native Transport)
  • Manage Datacenter Networking (Cisco Nexus / ACI)
  • Oversee Datacenter Network Virtualization (VMWare NSX)
  • Implement Load Balancing Technologies (VMWare AVI / Cloud Native NLB/ALB)
  • Support internal and external Connectivity Engineering requirements
  • Research, pilot, and test new connectivity products
  • Assist product owners on technology road maps for Connectivity Engineering products
  • Engage with peer Product Managers for business objective alignment
  • Provide technical leadership for supported product teams
  • Partner with Engineering and business teams to resolve connectivity issues
  • Drive IaaC transformation and automation for supported product teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree OR high school diploma/GED with 10+ years of IT/Networking Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Networking/Connectivity Solutions
  • Agile Product Manager certification desired
  • Cisco CCNP/CCDP certifications strongly desired

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong technical background in Enterprise Networking/Connectivity Solutions
  • Experience with DC switching and routing technologies (Cisco Nexus, ACI)
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud Service Providers/Cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with Cloud Fabric/Transit architecture (Equinix, Aviatrix)
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Python 3.x, Ansible, and Terraform
  • Knowledge of GIT source control management
  • Experience in the credit card or financial services industry
