About the position

The Vice President of Accounting at AmbioPharm, Inc. is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing the accounting function across both company sites. This role involves managing a team of accounting professionals and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. The VP of Accounting will deliver monthly financial reports, manage the monthly close process, and provide insightful financial analysis based on operational data and trends. A key aspect of this position is maintaining current cost standards and accurate inventory valuations, which are critical for effective financial management. In addition to routine accounting responsibilities, the VP will develop a robust project costing process and maintain reserves, accruals, and other financial estimates. The role also includes engaging with tax filings and quarterly provisions in collaboration with Elliott Davis, as well as conducting annual financial audits in accordance with Bank and Board specifications. The VP will be responsible for conducting quarterly covenant tests and responding to inquiries from the Bank, ensuring compliance with financial agreements. The position requires strong technical and operational leadership across the accounting function, ensuring that all accounting processes are executed accurately and efficiently. The VP will oversee the hiring and career development of accounting staff, fostering a qualified and capable team that can meet the company's goals. Additionally, the VP will assist the CFO with enterprise-level lines of credit and ongoing credit requirements necessary for the company's growth and capitalization. The role may also involve supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analyses, along with other duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the accounting function and staff involved in accounting at both sites.
  • Delivers monthly financial reporting and effects monthly close.
  • Provides timely financial analysis on trends supported by financial and operational data.
  • Keeps cost standards current and inventory valuation accurate.
  • Develops a robust project costing process.
  • Maintains reserves, accruals and other estimates.
  • Engages tax filings and quarterly provision with Elliott Davis.
  • Conducts annual financial audit based on Bank and Board specifications.
  • Conducts quarterly covenant test and responds to Bank inquiries.
  • Provides technical and operational leadership across the accounting function.

Requirements

  • Must currently have CPA certification.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • 12-15 years of accounting and finance experience is necessary.
  • 8-10 years minimum in managerial experience is required.
  • Ability to lead and develop a diverse staff of 3-5 reports.
