About the position

Tandem Hospitality is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to facilitate the evaluation and business planning of Tandem's growth initiatives for new hotel management contracts within the US. This influential role will specifically focus on market and competitive business research, feasibility analysis, financial and capital investment analysis, and executive-level presentation development and communications. The VP of Business Development will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the company by identifying new business opportunities and ensuring that the organization is well-positioned to capitalize on them. This position requires a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to senior leadership and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business growth, expansion, and development, with at least 10 years of experience in corporate growth strategy, consulting, and financial planning. The role will involve building and managing investment analyses and financial models, supporting real estate site selection and evaluation, and developing presentations that communicate insights and recommendations to key stakeholders. Additionally, the VP will be responsible for researching and monitoring the competitive environment and industry trends, conducting due diligence, and fostering key relationships across the hospitality industry to support long-term growth initiatives. This position is not only about identifying opportunities but also about building a cohesive strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals. The VP will continuously improve existing business evaluation tools and processes, ensuring that the organization remains agile and responsive to market changes. This role is pivotal in driving the company's growth and ensuring its success in a competitive landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the evaluation and business planning of growth initiatives for new hotel management contracts.
  • Conduct market and competitive business research and feasibility analysis.
  • Perform financial and capital investment analysis.
  • Develop executive-level presentations and communications for key stakeholders.
  • Support real estate site selection, evaluation, diligence, negotiation, and transaction documentation activities.
  • Build, manage, and oversee investment analyses and financial models focusing on new business lines.
  • Research and monitor the competitive environment and industry trends.
  • Conduct research on various business topics, industry and economic trends, and business models and transactions.
  • Develop and foster key relationships across the hospitality industry to support long-term growth initiatives.
  • Continuously improve new and existing business evaluation tools, models, processes, and templates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field required.
  • Master's degree in business or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in business growth, expansion, and development.
  • Experience in corporate growth strategy, consulting, and financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience in the hospitality/tourism industry preferred.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a history of producing executive presentations, research briefs, and business plans.
