About the position

The VP of Finance/CFO position is a part-time role based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, designed for a seasoned finance executive. This role focuses on leading strategic financial planning and operations while ensuring the financial health of the company. The position offers flexibility with a commitment of 20 hours per week, allowing for a work-life balance while overseeing all financial activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Analyze and interpret financial data to inform long-term strategy and business decisions.
• Oversee cash flow management, financial risk assessment, and capital investments.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Provide leadership in accounting, tax planning, and financial systems optimization.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to drive growth, efficiency, and profitability.
• Develop and monitor performance metrics to assess the company's financial operations and performance.
• Manage relationships with external financial partners, including auditors, banks, and investors.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role (VP, CFO, etc.), ideally within mid-sized companies.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required; MBA or CPA designation is strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience in financial planning, analysis, and risk management.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals.
• Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
