About the position

The VP of Purchasing and Operations at Milescraft is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and innovating the operations and supply chain processes within the organization. This position requires a visionary leader who can manage both domestic and international vendor relationships, optimize production schedules, and ensure product quality while supporting the company's growth objectives. The role involves significant collaboration with various teams and requires a hands-on approach to managing operations across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage domestic and overseas vendor relationships.
• Work with engineering to set up new factories in East Asia.
• Oversee production schedules, procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align supply and inventory with growth objectives.
• Negotiate cost efficiencies and improve quality with suppliers.
• Manage and modernize the current facility in Rockford, IL, and establish a distribution facility in Europe as needed.
• Supervise warehouse staff and coordinate logistics to ensure timely product delivery.
• Conduct on-site quality control inspections in Rockford and at factories.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
• 5 years of personnel management experience (preferred).
• 5 years of experience importing from overseas (preferred).
• Solid, progressive knowledge of competitive manufacturing.

• Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).
