About the position

The Vice President of Software Engineering at Corpay Lodging Division will lead the technology department, overseeing application development, project management, and technology support. This role is crucial for directing development teams to achieve strategic goals, managing budgets, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The VP will work in a hybrid environment and is responsible for setting strategic roadmaps and modernizing technology stacks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple development teams to achieve strategic goals.
  • Assess current technology and identify areas for quality improvement.
  • Structure the team for growth, including domestic and offshore resources.
  • Execute a robust roadmap to capitalize on growth potential.
  • Create and maintain strategic roadmaps in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage and review large budgets.
  • Promote best practice protocols for security and application quality standards.
  • Provide technical and non-technical guidance to management team members.
  • Plan and accomplish goals using extensive experience and judgment.
  • Ensure the development team leverages technologies for best-in-class product experiences.
  • Lead teams of approximately 25-50 resources with 2-3 direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area.
  • At least seven years of experience with applications development.
  • 10+ years of experience in defined technical areas.
  • 7+ years of management and strategic experience.
  • Strong database experience in writing and tuning stored procedures, defining roles, permissions, and security.
  • Experience scaling web-based applications to millions of transactions per day.
  • Modern Web Services development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience optimizing and automating tests builds and deployments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
