About the position

The Vice President, Operations & Finance will oversee the administrative and financial operations of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), collaborating closely with the leadership team to fulfill the organization's mission. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the organization's business, focusing on fiscal stability and innovative growth. The successful candidate will lead various functions including finance, operations, human resources, and business development, while also driving strategic initiatives and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute APMA's strategic plan, goals, and objectives in collaboration with the CEO and senior managers.
  • Oversee financial operations including budgeting, cash flow management, and compliance with financial reporting requirements.
  • Lead all for-profit entities and operations of non-dues revenue lines of business for the Association.
  • Oversee human resources functions including talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies.
  • Manage information technology functions and develop an appropriate IT infrastructure for the organization.
  • Ensure facilities management including building leases and day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent work experience in healthcare, business administration, finance, or association management preferred.
  • CPA and/or Certified Association Executive certification preferred.
  • Ten years of related business and/or association management experience, with at least seven years at a leadership level.
  • Proven history of successful financial management of an organization.
  • Exceptional capacity for managing and leading people.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in nonprofit/associations preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
