About the position

The Pay Later Product Manager at Synchrony is responsible for leading the development and management of the Pay Later product, focusing on delivering innovative solutions that meet customer and partner needs in the credit marketplace. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, utilizing data for market insights, and driving product commercialization to maintain Synchrony's position as an industry leader.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and drive Synchrony's Pay Later product across all platforms.
  • Drive the vision and roadmap of innovative new capabilities to keep the business as an industry leader in the space.
  • Partner with technology teams to drive efficiency and commercialization of the product.
  • Lead planning meetings and provide advice and guidance on product direction.
  • Understand industry insights, consumer intel, and market analysis to benchmark products against competition.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing on marketing and positioning for the product.
  • Liaise with Business Development to ensure proper representation of consumer products in RFPs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify gaps, product needs, and growth opportunities.
  • Engage with Compliance and Legal to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Own product enhancements from ideation to execution, including specifications and requirements.
  • Coordinate efforts with other product managers to commercialize across platforms and portfolios.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics for the products to assess success and determine enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or a high school diploma with 10 years of marketing or product experience in the credit card or financial services industries.
  • Minimum of 6 years marketing or product expertise with a proven track record of launching new products or applications.
  • Ability to influence and coordinate multi-functional teams.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across functions and multiple levels of leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Credit card, consumer finance, or financial services industry experience including the Buy Now Pay Later product.
  • Experience within the installment loan marketplace and understanding of customer experiences and trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives in a matrixed environment.
  • Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing, and collaboration skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to develop actionable plans to drive business results.
  • 5+ years marketing or product innovation/management experience.
  • 5+ years managing people and teams.
  • Strong background working with clients and reporting on performance.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • P&L experience with a solid understanding of business financials.
  • Current on financial services and payments industry trends.
