About the position

The Pay Later Product Manager at Synchrony is responsible for managing and developing the Pay Later product across all platforms, driving innovation and efficiency to meet the needs of customers and partners. This role involves leading the product roadmap, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while monitoring product performance and enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and drive Synchrony's Pay Later product across all platforms.
  • Drive the vision and roadmap of innovative new capabilities to keep the business as an industry leader.
  • Partner with technology teams to drive efficiency and commercialization of the product.
  • Lead planning meetings and provide advice on product direction.
  • Understand industry insights, consumer intel, and market analysis to benchmark products against competition.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing on marketing and positioning for the product.
  • Liaise with Business Development to ensure proper representation of consumer products in RFPs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify gaps, product needs, and growth opportunities.
  • Engage with Compliance and Legal to ensure adherence to requirements.
  • Own product enhancements from ideation to execution, including specifications and testing.
  • Coordinate efforts with other product managers to commercialize across platforms.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics for product success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or high school diploma with 10 years of marketing or product experience in financial services.
  • Minimum of 6 years marketing or product expertise with a proven track record of launching new products.
  • Ability to influence and coordinate multi-functional teams.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across functions and leadership levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Credit card, consumer finance, or financial services industry experience including Buy Now Pay Later products.
  • Experience within the installment loan marketplace and understanding of customer experiences and trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives in a matrixed environment.
  • Outstanding communications and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to develop actionable plans.
  • 5+ years of marketing or product innovation/management experience.
  • 5+ years managing people and teams.
  • Strong background working with clients and reporting on performance.
