About the position

The VP & Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing investment portfolios, ensuring adherence to company policies, and maintaining high-quality client service. This role involves active communication with clients, monitoring market trends, and supporting business development efforts. The position requires a strong analytical background and the ability to lead and guide support staff while maintaining professional credentials and pursuing continuing education.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding investment management guidelines and client objectives.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to client inquiries and maintain active communication with account administrative officers and clients.
  • Initiate actions to accurately effect security purchase and sales orders.
  • Stay informed of trends and developments in the economy and capital markets.
  • Guide support staff in day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor, review, and manage investment portfolios of assigned accounts, especially complex or critical ones.
  • Assist in business development efforts as practical and feasible.
  • Proactively engage with assigned client accounts to maintain a high client retention ratio.
  • Perform additional projects as assigned.
  • Maintain professional credentials and pursue continuing education to enhance knowledge and proficiency.
  • Ensure delivery of quality service and investment performance results for clients according to established benchmarks.
  • Provide technical and quantitative expertise in managing internal systems and program software for performance measurements and presentations.
  • Maintain and report on performance calculations and presentations for individual and composite measurements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • 5-7 years of direct or related experience, including a minimum of 3 years in portfolio management.
  • CFA, CIMA, MBA, or active enrollment in these programs is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in business development and client relationship management.
