We're looking for a transformative growth leader who is not only passionate about games and products, but well-versed in consumer goods. This key role demands a creative problem solver eager to take ownership of the Play platform and its family of brands which include family and friends' games, educational toys, fantasy games, and novelty products. The successful candidate will be agile, responding proactively to the dynamic retail landscape. They'll develop profitable growth strategies to guide consumers through the purchase journey, crafting brand experiences that turn customers into loyal advocates. The Vice President of Play will lead the omnichannel go-to-market strategy for our Play platform during a transformative period. This role requires a strategic thinker who's not afraid to be hands-on. The ideal candidate will oversee marketing, brand development, product development and management, and retail marketing while collaborating closely with the eCommerce team for direct-to-consumer and Amazon strategies. The ideal candidate has proven experience in marketing and brand development and experience creating and scaling omnichannel brands.

Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable growth for MPG Play platform, including full P&L oversight of the Play brands
  • Lead the transformation of brands to include brand consolidation and omnichannel launch of six consumer brands
  • Develop and execute on the short and long-term strategic growth plan for the Play platform, to include new product innovation, brand management, and go-to-market plan
  • Monitor competitive landscape to proactively react to external factors that may impact brand and product performance
  • Work with demand planning to ensure adequate inventory is available to hit target In-Stock/OTIF benchmarks
  • Develop and execute on full-funnel multichannel sales and marketing plans, partnering with eCommerce on paid and organic tactical plans
  • Own development and execution of marketing and promotion plan and calendar
  • Hire, train and retain a world-class team to support the Play platform's go-to-market
  • Leverage 3rd party and owned data to transform insights into action and ensure tactical plans are prioritized appropriately
  • Drive digital and in-store merchandising strategy
  • Align channel KPIs to growth strategy to prioritize tactical plans to greatest growth opportunities
  • Oversee key marketing channels: content strategy, email/SMS, loyalty, social media, owned websites, affiliate and influencer

Requirements

  • Experience in games, novelty, toys a plus
  • Proven experience leading the development and execution of strategic growth plans
  • Proven experience scaling omnichannel brands through new product innovation and marketing
  • Strong understanding of marketplace selling
  • Highly experienced in developing content marketing strategies to support full-funnel, omnichannel marketing strategies
  • Proficient in analyzing data and translating insights into actionable strategies to drive business optimization and growth
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Firm understanding of monitoring evolving consumer behavior and optimizing go-to-market strategies
