About the position

LaunchDarkly is seeking an experienced VP of Product Marketing to lead and expand our Product Marketing team. This role is pivotal in understanding our customers and the market landscape, defining target personas, and developing effective messaging and positioning strategies. The VP will be responsible for creating and owning new product plans while supporting the broader commercial organization to empower developers in building their best software and instilling confidence in buyers to partner with LaunchDarkly. The essence of this position is to connect our audience with our value proposition, ensuring that the team prioritizes and coordinates effectively across departments including Product, Sales, and Engineering. In this role, you will be expected to own and enhance product positioning and messaging, grounded in a comprehensive understanding of our customers, competitors, and the overall market dynamics. You will also support all sales channels by providing necessary training, tools, and collateral. As we transition from a single-product organization to a product-portfolio driven one, you will expand and update our go-to-market strategies and tactics, while tracking and managing a portfolio of go-to-market initiatives. Your leadership will be crucial in enabling your team to perform at their best by connecting them with the resources they need and fostering collaboration across LaunchDarkly to achieve common goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product marketing within the DevOps ecosystem, complemented by technical experience as a Software Developer, Product Manager, or Solutions Engineer. You should possess excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across the company, along with strong program management and process execution capabilities. The ability to evaluate and prioritize initiatives based on context and expected ROI is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Own, build and improve on strong product positioning and messaging based on a deep understanding of our customers, competitors, and overall market.
  • Understand and support all sales channels via training, tools, and collateral.
  • Expand and update our go-to-market strategies and tactics, facilitating the transition from a single-product organization to a product-portfolio driven one.
  • Track and manage a portfolio of GTM initiatives.
  • Support your team and enable them to be at their best, connecting them to the resources they need when required.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders across LaunchDarkly to execute on common goals and gather feedback.

Requirements

  • Product Marketing leadership experience in the DevOps ecosystem.
  • Technical background preferably as a Software Developer, Product Manager, or Solutions Engineer.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across the company.
  • Strong program management, process execution skills, and highly detail oriented.
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize initiatives based on context and expected ROI.
