About the position

The Vice President of Product Marketing at Arcserve is a pivotal role that serves as the connective tissue between the Product, Support, Marketing, and Sales organizations. This position is designed for a detail-oriented and motivated individual who will lead the Product Marketing Team in understanding market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscapes. The VP will ideate, develop, and implement innovative marketing strategies that elevate the Arcserve brand, increase sales success, and drive revenue growth. In this role, the Vice President will be accountable for defining the marketing strategy, delivering product positioning and messaging, developing go-to-market plans, and driving a cross-functional team to successfully execute these plans. The VP will be recognized as the product marketing and business expert for Arcserve's offerings, leading the PMM team from the front and actively participating in the execution of marketing strategies. The responsibilities include defining the offering launch strategy, leading its marketing execution, and bringing insights from the front-line sellers, partners, and customers back to Arcserve. The VP will also develop go-to-market plans that incorporate activities related to awareness, customer acquisition and retention, and pipeline generation. Additionally, the role involves defining and implementing the Sales and Partner enablement strategy, developing messaging and positioning for Arcserve's offerings, and orchestrating market research and intelligence on competitors' strategies. The VP will represent Arcserve at industry or partner events and in the media, develop collateral and sales tools, and evaluate progress and results to recommend changes in procedures to accomplish tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Arcserve Product Marketing Team and serve as a player-coach.
  • Define the offering launch strategy and lead its marketing execution.
  • Bring insights from sellers, partners, and customers to shape product and offering strategy.
  • Develop go-to-market plans for awareness, customer acquisition, retention, and pipeline generation.
  • Define and implement the Sales and Partner enablement strategy.
  • Develop messaging and positioning for Arcserve's offerings.
  • Conduct market research and intelligence on competitors' strategies, positioning, and pricing.
  • Represent Arcserve at industry or partner events and in the media.
  • Develop collateral and sales tools, including presentations, demos, and competitive write-ups.
  • Evaluate progress and results, recommending changes in procedures to accomplish tasks.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or a technical degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, product management, or technical marketing in the B2B IT space.
  • Experience in service or software industries.
  • Deep understanding of market trends and product lifecycles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multiple fields of technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of business problems and interactions of its components.
  • Effective communication skills to convey information to various audiences and deliver quality presentations.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and negotiate resources and deliverables across the organization.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
