About the position

The Vice President of Product Operations at Alight is responsible for optimizing the operational framework that drives product development and delivery across the company's technology platforms. This role focuses on ensuring that products are built efficiently, released on time, and continuously improved based on data and user feedback. The VP will collaborate with various teams to enhance product scalability, quality, and innovation, aligning with business goals and client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational strategies that support the technology-driven product roadmap and company growth objectives.
  • Lead the product operations team, cultivating a high-performance culture focused on operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align product operations with organizational objectives.
  • Partner with product and engineering with an agile mindset, utilizing an iterative approach to continuously improve and adapt products based on feedback and evolving organizational needs.
  • Ensure all internal teams are aligned and equipped with the tools and knowledge required for product development.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the product development process and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor and optimize product performance, making informed decisions to drive product improvements.
  • Continuously evaluate and introduce new technologies, tools, and methodologies to optimize the product development process, including collaboration and project management platforms, including vendor management where applicable.
  • Develop and implement metrics to track product performance, operational efficiency, and overall product quality, leveraging dashboards and advanced analytics tools.
  • Design and implement change management strategies that support the organization's strategic direction.
  • Facilitate the adoption of new processes and technologies across the organization, managing the human factors involved to minimize resistance.
  • Implement continuous improvement programs that contribute to the ongoing development of technical operations and cultivate a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Develop and refine organizational processes that are both scalable and agile, enabling the organization to respond quickly to changing market demands while maintaining operational stability.
  • Up-level the Tech org by standardizing best practices and frameworks that support organizational growth and performance.
  • Enhance internal communication strategies to improve transparency and alignment on organization and portfolio goals, progress, trade-offs, and strategic decisions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing strategic insights and recommendations that influence long-term business and operational strategy.
  • Build solid relationships across the organization to ensure that operational transformation initiatives are closely aligned with business needs and strategic goals.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product management or strategic leadership roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or advanced technical degree preferred).
  • Expertise in agile development methodologies, DevOps processes, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in a matrix-management environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, drive cross-functional collaboration, and achieve business objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with product management and development tools such as Jira, Asana, Confluence, GitHub, or similar platforms.
