About the position

As the VP of Production Manufacturing at Atomic Machines, you will be responsible for planning, establishing, and operating a new generation of fully autonomous commercial fabs utilizing the innovative Matter Compiler technology. This role involves overseeing various functions including Supply Chain, Fab Operations, and Quality & Reliability, while ensuring the company meets its aggressive growth goals. You will leverage your extensive network in the manufacturing industry to select and onboard contract manufacturing partners, enabling rapid scaling of production capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the design of the commercial fabs, including equipment selection and layout.
  • Manage site selection and build-out of commercial fabs to ensure timely delivery.
  • Identify, vet, and engage contract manufacturing partners for production equipment builds.
  • Establish and evolve economic multi-source supply for materials and components.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure appropriate supply of raw materials and finished equipment.
  • Plan operational activities and oversee manufacturing processes.
  • Establish framework for managing key manufacturing metrics throughout the organization.
  • Responsible for supplier partnerships and ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure a healthy and safe work environment and compliance with regulations.
  • Partner with engineering to enhance the capabilities of the Matter Compiler.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in a manufacturing executive role overseeing automated operations.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience managing budgets of $100M or more.
  • Excellent organizational and managerial skills.
  • Experience establishing and managing contract manufacturing partnerships at scale.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on clarity and conciseness.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to work with and inspire teams.
  • Bachelor's degree from a reputable university, ideally in mechanical engineering or related field.
