About the position

The VP Program Management Sr Director will be an individual with extensive leadership experience in operating and managing transit and passenger rail systems. The VP Program Management Sr Director will provide project and client management, business development, and technical guidance in the NY Metro to support our portfolio of large infrastructure projects. In addition, The Vice President will leverage their extensive network of contacts with transit agencies and state government leadership throughout the U.S. but more specifically in the East region. The successful candidate will not be expected to be in the New York Metro offices (New York or New Jersey) and will be expected to travel as needed to meet with clients or the AECOM Transit Rail team.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate will have a leadership role in business development strategy including industry and client outreach and leading responses to agency Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Collaborate with AECOM’s global transit/rail planning and engineering resources.
  • Develop and support growth and client-specific business development strategies.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance.
  • Support new business development activities including industry events and client proposals.
  • Serve as a senior advisor on relevant projects.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Transportation Planning, Business, or other related field.
  • 6 years of leadership experience.
  • 20 years of demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • 20 years of leadership of transit operations or executive management.
  • 20 years C-suite experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with development of transit and passenger rail operations, labor requirements, and physical infrastructure including alignments and track, facilities, and systems design.
  • Experience with NY large transit agencies.
