About the position

The Energy - Renewables & Power ("R&P") team is part of ING Sector Coverage. The R&P team covers the power & renewables market in the Americas, with a primary focus on leading project finance lending transactions. The team covers all power generation technologies including natural gas, solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and battery storage.

Responsibilities

• Support MDs and Directors in the origination and structuring of financing solutions, with an emphasis on project finance in the North American power sector.
• Conduct industry & market analysis; prepare pitches and presentations for new financing opportunities, capital structuring, or M&A transactions in the power sector.
• Draft greenlight memos, credit, and written summaries for new lending transactions.
• Use own or third-party financial models to prepare or review financial projections and sensitivities analysis.
• Review due diligence materials and participate in the credit application process.
• Oversee junior deal team members' work and assist in maintaining industry and market intelligence databases.
• Train and coach junior team members, shadowing Directors/MDs and assuming a deputy oversight role.

Requirements

• Expertise in corporate and project finance loan origination and execution with a special emphasis on the North American renewable and power market.
• Strong credit skills and understanding of debt capital markets.
• Strong presentation and oral/written communication skills.
• Strong financial modeling skills.
• Committed and dedicated individual who will continuously improve the way the team works and coach/train other team members.
