About the position

The VP, Segment - Mid Markets at Lumen is a visionary leadership role responsible for setting strategy and driving execution for the Mid Markets product segment. This position involves engaging stakeholders to align on actionable product strategies, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring collaboration between segments and product owners to deliver optimal results for customers and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Complete accountability for the success and growth of the Mid Markets (MM) product segment including owning and driving a strong P&L.
  • Set strategies and guide the product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with product teams, sales, marketing, service delivery, and other key ecosystem partners to develop requirements, translate into PRDs, prioritize enhancements, and drive best in class product experience for customers.
  • Responsible for creating product solutions and collaborating with cross-functional partners like GTM team on how to 'productize' the solution.
  • Define, monitor, and improve all key product segments metrics including adoption, customer net promoter score (NPS), volume of leads, etc.
  • Prioritize the product roadmap for the MM segment in line with market research, customer feedback, and ecosystem partners' capacity.
  • Actively monitor and analyze market research and trends to inform strategy and decisions for the MM segment, ensuring alignment with the latest industry developments and customer preferences.
  • Evangelize the Mid Markets segment vision through innovation and delivery.
  • Ensure clear communication between the Mid Markets segment and GTM & Business Operations functions for seamless working relationships.
  • Lead the identification of and capitalization on emerging opportunities within the MM segment, fostering innovation to maintain a competitive edge and drive future revenue growth.
  • Identify revenue growth opportunities within the segment and communicate potential overlap in opportunities with other segment leaders to drive alignment.

Requirements

  • BS degree, preferably in Business or a related field.
  • 15+ years of leadership or experience in the Mid Markets product segments.
  • Proven track record of launching successful products in MM through a blend of technical, creative, business, and marketing skills.
  • Superior communication, leadership, team building, and people management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize among competing requests, requirements, projects, etc., while balancing customer needs with business priorities, and clearly articulate the rationale behind decisions.
  • Versatile team player with demonstrated strong capabilities in communication - both oral and written - and presentation skills for all levels of audience.
  • Ability to lead a team of high performing individuals, both people leaders and individual contributors.
  • Experience and familiarity with SASE, Dark Fiber, Colo VPN, Enterprise Broadband, VoIP, Lumen Digital, M&P, and UCC products as they relate to MM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a General Manager (GM) is a strong plus.
