About the position

The Senior ESG Quantitative Research Analyst at Voya will leverage quantitative research methods to analyze ESG data, develop insights with investment value, and enhance the proprietary scoring approach. This role involves delivering ESG information and analytics to investment teams, creating automated solutions, and collaborating on ESG research projects to support regulatory and client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver ESG information and analytics to investment teams through automated reporting solutions.
  • Synthesize data from multiple vendors into a proprietary scorecard and guide its implementation through IT.
  • Lead new ESG research initiatives and continuously improve scoring and integration processes.
  • Manage and deliver ESG information and analytics to support integration and regulatory requirements.
  • Advance ESG integration for private asset classes, addressing data sharing and issuer mapping challenges.
  • Collaborate on ESG research projects, including thematic screening and quantitative insights development.
  • Stay updated on new ESG datasets and emerging sustainability topics and trends.
  • Assist in vetting new vendors.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in quantitative modeling and/or full-stack development in a financial markets setting.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field preferred; CFA is a plus.
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills in Python, with experience in building Dash web applications.
  • Comfortable interfacing with SQL databases, flat files, and data APIs.
  • Experience applying quantitative methods to sustainability/ESG topics in an investment setting.
  • Interest or experience working with ESG datasets or alternative/unstructured data.
  • Familiarity with system architecture and cloud infrastructure for discussions with IT.
  • Familiarity with market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Aladdin, Factset) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of fundamental research and financial statement modeling.
  • Ability to transform raw data into insights that drive investment decisions using data analytics and visualization techniques.
