About the position
The VP/Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's computer networks to ensure optimal performance and security. This role involves troubleshooting network issues, implementing security measures, and advising on technological purchases. The position requires collaboration with various departments and adherence to compliance regulations.
Responsibilities
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting the network architecture
- Designing and implementing business solutions using common network equipment
- Monitoring and diagnosing performance issues
- Developing strategy for system design and infrastructure
- Advising on selection of technological purchases
- Setting standards for client/server relational database structure
- Advising on feasibility of potential future projects
- Tracking current plans requiring IT resources
- Monitoring and reviewing the success of systems
- Recommending future computer system technologies
- Integrating IT solution systems with existing client systems
- Designing, writing, and updating system documentation and network diagrams
- Performing various other duties as needed or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Networking Engineer
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure
- Understanding of key networking hardware including CPUs, wiring, and routers
- Knowledge of communication and routing protocols
- Familiarity with network analysis tools such as Solar Wind
- Proficiency with various coding languages
- Strong leadership and team mentoring skills
- Exemplary communication skills
