About the position

The VP of Social Media at Pure Fishing is a senior-level role responsible for developing and executing the social media strategy for a portfolio of over eight leading brands in the fishing tackle industry. This position requires a deep understanding of social media dynamics and the ability to creatively leverage these platforms to enhance brand experiences. The VP will manage a team of social media practitioners and collaborate closely with various marketing teams to align social media efforts with overall brand objectives. The role emphasizes community growth, engagement, and the effective use of analytics to drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the social media strategy that aligns with the brand strategy for a portfolio of 8+ brands.
  • Create a unique brand voice and channel strategy for each brand.
  • Manage a team of 4 full-time social media practitioners and outside contractors.
  • Coordinate with Directors for each brand and the Marketing Communications and DTC teams.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations for multiple social media channels, including content development and scheduling.
  • Monitor key events to provide timely social media reactions.
  • Grow the fan community through effective organic tactics.
  • Increase engagement rates by providing insights for new content.
  • Participate in content ideation and digital editorial planning.
  • Maintain key analytics to assess content engagement continuously.
  • Monitor community activity for trends and negative feedback.
  • Collaborate with the DTC team on social media campaigns to drive traffic to websites.
  • Work with the content strategy team to execute social-specific content and campaigns.
  • Oversee sponsored influencers and track their social media activity.
  • Develop analytics to estimate the economic value of influencers and recommend sponsorships.
  • Track competitors' social media activity and recommend improvements to the strategy.
  • Compile a monthly industry social media report for internal distribution.

Requirements

  • BA degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in social media and content marketing programs.
  • Proven record of executing successful brand campaigns with influencers.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and platform updates.
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to analyze content through quantitative lenses.
  • Experience with social media analytics and tracking tools.
  • Strong project planning, tracking, and organizing skills.
  • Great attention to detail and ability to execute swiftly.
  • Interest in the outdoors and angling domain.
