About the position

The Virtual Design Support position at Southland Industries Inc. is designed to support the Brandt Engineering VDC Team and MEP Fabrication shops by developing and maintaining the Autodesk CADmep Fabrication database. This role is crucial for providing dimensionally accurate components and services that aid in virtual design efforts. The position involves a variety of responsibilities, including direct user support, project setup assistance, template development, and support for detailing and coordination activities. In this role, you will be tasked with developing and maintaining parametric Revit content for various applications, including commercial plumbing, mechanical piping, industrial process piping, and electrical detailing. You will also build and maintain manufacturer-specific ITM content and fabrication services for plumbing, piping, process, and electrical projects using Autodesk CADmep Fabrication. Additionally, you will create reports and labels for output from Revit to fabrication, which will be utilized by spooling, detailing, procurement, and end users. Maintaining estimated labor and pricing data within the Autodesk Fabrication ESTmep database is also a key responsibility. You will interface with the VDC for project administration, development, scheduling, outputs, and end deliverables. Providing user support on fabrication through Revit and related Autodesk tools is essential, as is assisting with the tracking and control of CAD/BIM-related file content.
