About the position

The WordPress Developer will play a crucial role in enhancing and securing six WordPress applications within the IT Division. This position involves full-stack development work that supports initiatives in highway safety, emergency messaging, and recruitment. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders and adherence to agile development methodologies, with a focus on creating positive user experiences across desktop and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

• Working across the full stack in WordPress to build new features and services
• Developing solutions in WordPress that support positive, accessible user experiences in both desktop and mobile environments
• Debugging and security remediations for public-facing applications
• Working with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices, and pursuing continued learning opportunities

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in WordPress application development
• Proficiency in PHP coding and debugging
• Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Understanding of SQL
• Understanding of REST API
• Proven knowledge of back-end/infrastructure maintenance and optimization and UX/UI principles
• Proven knowledge of secure coding practices
• Ability to work as a team member on web development projects end-to-end
• Outstanding communication skills
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in information sciences, computer science, or a related field; considerable software implementation experience
